Our expertise includes corporate compliance and risk management, transaction support, due diligence, hazardous materials management and training, health and safety compliance, industrial hygiene, product environmental regulatory compliance, liability valuations, and environmental management systems. Come join our WSP and help shape the future! WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Environmental Due Diligence Manager to lead the growth of our Environmental Due Diligence business located in one of our North Carolina office locations.  However, other locations in the southeast United States may be available for the right candidate.  Tasked with helping grow and manage WSP’s environmental due diligence practice in the southeast United States and nationally in a highly visible Service Line position, this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to advance their career working regionally, nationally and globally across a leading organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: ·Primary responsibility will be environmental due diligence client development in the United States, with an emphasis on the Southeast region.  Working with the Service Line Leader, develop and implement a focused strategic plan to target client opportunities to increase WSP’s visibility in the environmental due diligence and compliance marketplace.·Leveraging your existing client relationships in the corporate, financial and legal sectors, develop opportunities and build on WSP’s momentum to grow our due diligence team in the southeast region and nationally.·Working with our Service Line Leader, regional due diligence practitioners and your global due diligence counterparts, respond to opportunities and deliver large and small-scale portfolio and technical due diligence projects performed for industrial, commercial, legal, and financial clients.  ·Identification and quantification of environmental risks; coordination of appropriate responses through a defined environmental assessment process, especially for mergers and acquisitions.·Serve as an expert technical resource to our due diligence practitioners on ASTM standards and global principals around environmental health and social governance.   Identify, recruit, train and mentor junior and mid-level due diligence professionals as we grow our practice, particularly in the southeast.·Leverage the depth and breadth of WSPs service lines to market expanded due diligence services to clients. ·Prepare detailed proposals including work scope and cost estimates.·Knowledge of U.S. environmental laws and regulations and working knowledge of OSHA regulations as applicable in an industrial setting.  Management of environmental, health and safety compliance audit and management system programs, and experience conducting EHS compliance audits for industrial and commercial clients is a bonus.RequirementsTalent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges. If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.Minimum Qualifications:·Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, studies, or engineering, or related discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of experience.·Proven ability as a client manager delivering environmental due diligence. You are a trusted advisor to existing clients whose expertise, responsiveness and work product results in repeat opportunities.·Expert knowledge of ASTM standards surrounding environmental due diligence. Knowledge and experience to build and deliver non-traditional due diligence scopes tailored to specific transactions and clients.·Client insight and demonstrated success in the southeast due diligence marketplace.·Ability to manage and deliver multi-site, portfolio due diligence projects under difficult timelines, employing multiple regional teams/assessors.·Ability to work overtime and/or non-traditional hours when collaborating with global teams, and travel up to 30 percent of the time. Must be able to make trips to local sites and travel via air and land to other client sites.·Excellent writing and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications·Environmental, Health and Safety compliance and management systems experience considered a plus.·Successful connectivity to regional/national market a plus.·OSHA 40-hour health and safety training, OSHA 8-hour health and safety refresher training, CPR, and first aid training are desired.
