 The Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing Global Information Systems (IT) projects from intake and initiation through closing and post-go-live stabilization.  This role provides critical leadership, planning, and oversight of activities throughout the project lifecycle.  This is accomplished by demonstrating project management knowledge, as well as through leveraging professional qualities like strong personal initiative, a collaborative mindset, and solid judgment in order to deliver predictable and high-quality outcomes.   
 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate and build partnerships with leaders to ensure successful project alignment  
  • Spearhead projects ensuring appropriate planning, scheduling, and delivery execution 
  • Arrange resourcing according to business priorities and promote benefit tradeoffs analysis when constraints arise in the areas of scope, cost, time, and resourcing 
  • Drive for results by monitoring individual, team and project performance based on tracking formalized project plans, and by conducting status updates of current program/project health  
  • Effectively identify risks, resolve conflicts, remove roadblocks, and support/lead decision-making when foundational key decisions, change requests, or critical issues arise 
  • Make sound decisions in ambiguous or difficult situations, including under pressure 
  • Oversee software vendors and ensure system implementer relationship management 
  • Align work with established architecture and enterprise roadmaps  
  • Ensure adherence to relevant data governance, information security, and other key standards 
  • Implement ongoing improvements for the efficiency of performance  

Qualifications: 

  • Program and project management expertise with 10+ program/project management experience 
  • Experience leading multiple global large-scale business and technical project implementations 
  • Solid understanding of multiple project methodologies, including waterfall and agile expertise 
  • Demonstrated competency in developing solutions for diverse and complex business problems 
  • Track record of success driving and delivering complex business change and solution adoption 
  • Excellent organizational change management skills with clear attention to detail 
  • Skilled in managing within a dynamic environment - determining what is meaningful and urgent, with the ability to manage through the work of others to meet deadlines and achieve desired results 
  • Outstanding collaboration and partnership capabilities with strong customer orientation and deep interpersonal, organizational, communication skills 
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills to relate to executive leadership by delivering appropriate stakeholder updates, metrics, reports, presentations 
  • Capability to work effectively within a PMO and conform to established standards and practices 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and other Project Management toolsets 
  • Retail Industry knowledge and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
