Take the reins as Assistant Manager in one of our quality departments: • Floral • Janitorial • Salad Bar & Produce • Dairy & Frozen • Bakery • Deli & Seafood • Meat • Party Center • Non-Foods Working with your Department Manager in this full-time position, you will help create a better customer experience and support a successful, sustainable department. First impressions—and lasting loyalty—are what we’re all about. A passionate leader, you excel at: • Inspiring the awesome Dierbergs team by providing clear direction and support • Keeping a close eye on the prize by monitoring gross margin, profitability, product usage, shared labor and the overall appearance of your department • Using your welcoming, pleasant personality to assist customers in person and over the phone with general questions, special orders…anything that affects and ensures the Dierbergs reputation for exceptional service • Maintaining an attractive, efficient selection of product and ensuring overall quality and price of items sold in your department • Showcasing your creative flair and great ideas for in-store specials, merchandising and display programs to increase sales and profits for your department and the store

What you need to succeed • General knowledge of/experience in retail or customer service; grocery industry is a definite advantage • Strong attention to detail, business acumen, follow-through and dependability • The vision to organize daily work, strategically plan short- and long-term goals, focus on results and celebrate the success of all you and your team will achieve • You’re not a 9-5 desk jockey; you welcome the flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays • The go-getter attitude needed to thrive in a fast-paced environment, as well as physical agility to move throughout the store and your department
