Job Description

Director of Sales

Growing West Michigan company is adding a member to their leadership team. The right candidate will have 5+ years of sales management experience including managing outside sales professionals. Ability to coach, mentor and hold people accountable is required. This person will also be a member of the leadership team and involved in the overall management of the sales function; including sales forecasting and strategy around new customer segments and geographies. The right candidate will also have experience selling a custom-made product or custom solution. Excellent opportunity to join this entrepreneurial environment. Will oversee a department of 10 people.

Competitive Base Salary plus incentive plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of annual sales strategies
  • Oversee a team and assist as needed with customer sales challenges
  • Draft detailed and accurate sales reports
  • Coach, mentor and develop sales team.
  • Suggest and recommend business expansion and product development opportunities
  • Establish a sales training program to train new employees


 


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years’ sales management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of sales best practices
  • Experience with a custom product or custom solution type of sale
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to build strong business relationships with customers
