SUMMARY

Responsible for the supply chain design, supplier development, and negotiation for procurement of goods and services required for Dedicated Computing products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Understand all market aspects of assigned products/suppliers and be recognized as a global industry expert within Dedicated Computing. Responsible for driving the adoption of commodity and supply chain strategies into product design and/or manufacturing objectives.

Develop cost models & understand cost drivers
Be the recognized expert for global market information.
Long-term supply/demand/capacity, price, market segments, and global/domestic market dynamics.
Short & long term market trends.

Through strong technical/market expertise, lead the development & execution of long term, supply chain strategies that deliver a competitive advantage to the business. Strategies must:

Demonstrate an understanding of the supply base as it maps to Dedicated Computing LLC demand over the next 3+ years.
Identify gaps in Dedicated Computing LLC direction vs. industry. Provide recommendations to address gaps.
Include contingency plans & risk analysis.
Develop sourcing plans reflective of portfolio management: Long term agreements, strategic sourcing relationships, etc.
Identify opportunities for product standardization, develop business cases, and drive strategies cross-functionally throughout business.

Develop global and comprehensive supplier/buyer contractual relationships. Develop negotiation strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals & objectives.

Develop and document negotiation & contracting process consistent with commodity strategy. Own communication for contract data & volumes across functional teams within Dedicated Computing LLC and supply base, as appropriate.
Leverage supplier capabilities and business opportunities on a domestic and international basis.

Own the overall supplier relationship. With technology partners, and in accordance with the commodity strategy, drive supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management and marketing.

Develop specific performance criteria and award/remove business in accordance with results.
Work with suppliers to drive improvement on all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
Drive supply chain consolidation analysis, planning, & implementation.
Generate material cost productivity improvements in assigned purchase areas to meet quarterly targets
Work with Sales/Product Management to improve forecast accuracy to suppliers.
Maximize supplier value through understanding of their strategy and marketing efforts, and incorporate information into new product designs. Train and educate account executive and product management teams in supplier marketing and strategy to drive sales with customers.

As a function of the above, drive improvement in key quantitative objectives: material availability, material cost, inventory turns, and excess & obsolete inventory.

Act as a mentor to less senior associates in the group. Proactively share best practices across Sourcing and lead cross-team efforts to leverage.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 10 years related experience.
Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, either internally or within Supplier organizations.
Cross-functional Project Management, data analysis and problem solving, team leadership, and the ability to work independently at a high energy level.

Preferred:

Knowledge of international business transactions, i.e., tariff codes, Intcoterms, export license requirements and intermodal transportation.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting.
